How To Measure Ring Size

Did you know that most people have no idea what their ring size is? The simplest way to determine what your ring size is is to stop in to a jewelry store and have them measure your finger in person—they have a special ring sizer tool to do this with. But what do you do if you are at home and want to measure your ring size?

How to Measure Ring Size

One of the easiest ways to measure your ring size is to simply take a piece of thread or dental floss and wrap it around the finger that you want to measure for your ring size.

Make sure to wrap the thread around the base of your finger, in the same spot where you would wear the ring.

Take a marker or pen and make a spot on the thread where the ends meet. Next, measure in millimeters what the length of the string is stopping at the spot where you marked the string.

Then look at the chart and find the ring size that matches with your millimeter measurement.

Alternate method: If you have a ring that you already wear and want to find out what size it is, you can measure the diameter of the opening of the ring by placing the ring on a millimeter ruler and then reading what the millimeter measurement is inside the opening.

Note: Ring sizes vary by country! Refer to the chart below.
