DIY Snowy Winter Mason Jars

You can create a snowy winter wonderland in a jar and it's SO easy! Check out my secret snow ingredient below!

To begin, wash and dry your jar to be sure it's very clean.

Next add winter elements of your choosing. Some ideas are natural elements such as:
Pinecones
Small sticks/branches
Evergreen sprigs from pine trees
Mini houses, cars, etc.

Arrange these items in the bottom of your jar.

And get out my secret ingredient: Baking soda!
Before you add any baking soda to your project make sure that the jar and the elements inside of the jar are one hundred percent DRY.

To apply the baking soda "snow" I like to pour some from the box onto my hand and then sprinkle it inside my jar that way as opposed to pouring it in straight from the box. This gives you more control as to where the snow goes and how much goes in the jar.

And now you have beautiful, powdery "snow"!

Keep adding "snow" until you are satisfied with your results.  Then put the lid on the jar.

Be careful not to jostle the jar around so that the snow stays in place. I recommend displaying your snowy jar out of reach of children and pets - on a shelf, mantle, or as a table centerpiece is perfect.

Have a great holiday!
