What is Soft Solder? Demystifying Soft Solder

What's up, friends? Today, I'm going to talk a bit about soft solder!

Those of you who have been around from the start (thank you!) already know very well that I've been a soft-soldering pusher from way back when. Was it 2012 when I published my first soldering/jewelry making book? I don't even remember! Lol

But I've never stopped promoting the craft and thanks to my readers (you!) and your passion for creating, I've kept creating projects and techniques and sharing them though my books and through my YouTube videos. I appreciate you guys so much!

Now that soft-soldering is really coming to the forefront (yay!) I am so inspired to keep writing books and creating more projects and sharing them with you, and also lots of other topics that come along with soft soldering.

I want to talk more about safety this year and clear up some misconceptions that a few folks have been spreading around on TikTok and other social channels about soft soldering. This is an important topic because safety must always be first and foremost.

But first off, I love that soft soldering has become more popular and that lots of jewelry makes - both younger and older, inexperienced and experienced, are practicing the craft.

Along with learning a craft comes the responsibility of practicing all the safety precautions that go along with that craft, so I thought I'd share some facts about what exactly soft solder is along with the different types of solder. Check it out!
