The Upcycled Garden Volume 17: Using Recycled & Salvaged Materials In Your Garden

 

Hey friends! Here we are again, another garden is upon us, and I always look forward to putting together my Upcycled Garden blog posts for you each year. Here we are at volume 17! Enjoy this garden aesthetic inspiration and read on below for some of my best tips for using recycled & salvaged materials in your garden! Happy summer!

Old Glass Bottles: Use vintage bottles (I especially love different-colored ones) to catch sunlight and add a magical glimmer to your garden.

Metal Sculptures: Metal sculptures are always popular garden decorations. Why not try your hand at making your own?

China Sculptures: Use old china bowls, teapots, and other chinaware to create unique garden art.

Garden Totem: Garden totems are becoming more popular this year and are a great way to add a pop of color to your outdoor space.

Rain Chains: Use links of wire and chain to attach large beads, charms, and findings to create your own rain chain.

Rustic Birdhouses: Use old wood scraps and bits and baubles to create a rustic-style birdhouse for your backyard feathered friends.

Great Ideas for Garden Totems

 

How about creating your own garden totem to express yourself creatively in your garden? You can use nearly any material, and we always encourage recycled and upcycled materials first and foremost! Check out some of the examples here created with wood scraps, bricks, and even concrete. Decorate your totem with sturdy outdoors paint and a coating of sealant to keep colors bright and to prevent wear. Use bits of ceramic tiles to create mosaic designs on your totem; the possibilities are endlesss!
