These stone landmarks date back to 2400 BC in the Arctic from Alaska to Greenland and are called an Inuksuk but people make them mostly for fun elsewhere nowadays too! From Wiki “The inuksuk may have been used for navigation, as a point of reference, a marker for travel routes, fishing places, camps, hunting grounds, places of veneration, drift fences used in hunting or to mark a food cache.” They are rather interesting -this is a good link if you want to know more–has a 4 minute video explaining them
http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/inuksuk-inukshuk/ Likely more up your alley is the fact that jewelry is made representing the Inuksuk – maybe a future jewelry project for you to put your unique spin on! :)
Prairie Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00184627811619354417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5508733528711241001.post-27068228439195279132015-11-17T17:48:01.634-05:002015-11-17T17:48:01.634-05:00Laura- Just out of curiosity (and forgive me if I ...Laura- Just out of curiosity (and forgive me if I asked before) which part of PA do you live in? I grew up close to the NY state border-close to Binghamton, NY. We could see seven counties from our house. xo DianaNanaDianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14298962791700019785noreply@blogger.com
